Candle Burning Recommendations

For the first burn allow the candle to melt for 2-4 hours to create an even wax pool, as wax has a "memory" and will only burn to the previous melt’s edge.  This avoids 'tunneling' or a memory ring, which will affect future burns.

Trim the wick to 1/4" before each use to help the candle burn steadily, prevent sooting and last longer.   Always check for debris before lighting, such as pieces of old matches or wick trimmings.

Limit burn times to 3-4 hours at a time, otherwise you could overheat the wax, reducing scent throw and may damage the tin container.

The best way to extinguish a candle is with a candle snuffer.  This can avoid smoking and burying your wick in wax.

When the tin has cooled replace the lid to contain the scent and keep your candle free from dust and debris.

Avoid burning your candle right to the very bottom, however tempting it is to get as much as you can out of your favourite scent.  Stop at 1/4" to 1/2" to avoid the candle vessel from overheating.

Scented candles have a shelf life of around 12 months, so it's best to use and replace them before this time to get the very best out of your candle.  Some candles can naturally produce essential oil leakage or crystalisation.  This shouldn't affect the scent throw of your candle.

Never leave a candle unattended.

Always burn on a heat resistant surface.

Never burn candles near flammable items.

Always keep candles away from children & pets.

Happy candle burning!
